Boulter wins San Diego Open

Final:

Marta Kostyuk (6) (Ukraine) v Katie Boulter (Great Britain)

First WTA Tour match between the players.

In the final service breaks were exchanged in games three and four of set one.

Kostyuk broke again in the sixth game for a 4-2 lead.

Boulter saved a break point in the eighth game and held to avoid going down a double break.

She then broke back for 4-5.

Boulter saved four set points before levelling at 5-5.

Serving at 5-6 Bouler was broken and Kostyuk won the set 7-5.

Boulter broke Kostyuk in the third and fifth games of set two to lead 4-1.

Kostyuk retrieved one of the breaks and trailed 2-4..

Boulter broke again for 5-2 and served out the set 6-2.

In the decider Boulter did not face a break point on her serve.

However, Kostyuk was broken in both the third and seventh games, allowing Boulter to serve out the match 5-7 6-2 6-2.
