Second round
- Dasha Gavrilova faced Karolina Pliskova (4), having beaten her sister Kristyna in the first round. Karolina, looked set to avenge that result as she jumped to a 4-1 opening set lead

Pliskova increased the points won on her serve from a paltry 41% in set one to 74% in set two, and achieved the only service break, while facing no break points herself. It was enough to level the match at 4-6 6-4.
In another momentum switch, Gavrilova grabbed the initiative in the third set decider, leading 4-1.
