Sinner wins 2025 AO semi final

Defending champion:
Jannik Sinner (4) who defeated Daniil Medvedev (3) 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-4 6

Semi final 2:

Jannik Sinner (1) (Italy) v Ben Shelton (21) (USA)

Sinner led head to head 4-1l
This included winning all the last four matches between the players.
Three were in 2024, two on hard court.
No finals at GS level yet for Shelton.

Shelton broke serve in the opening game of set one.
He saved a break point before consolidating for 2-0.

Sinner broke back in game four for 2-2.

Shelton saved two break points in game six and held for 3-3.

Serving at 5-5, Sinner was broken.

Shelton served for the set at 6-5.

Sinner broke back and forced a tie break
He won the tie break and set 7-6(2).

Sinner broke in game one of set two.
He saved a break point in the following game and held for 2-0.
Sinner broke again in game three.

Serving at 1-5:to stay in the set, Shelton saved a set point and held for 2-5.
Sinner served out the set 6-2.

Sinner saved a break point in game two of set three.
He saved another two break points in game four.
He held on both occasions. Score was 2-2.

Sinner broke serve in games five and seven to lead 5-2,

He served out the match 7-6(2) 6-2 6-2.

Jannik Sinner is in the final to defend his AO title
