Sabalenka wins a 2025 AO final spot

Aryna Sabalenka (2) who defeated Zheng Qinwen (12) 6-3 6-2

Semi final 1:

Aryna Sabalenka (1) (Belarus) v Paula Badosa (11) (Spain)

Head to head, Sabalenka led 5-2 in previous matches.
Badosa won the first two, and Sabalenka the past five.
This includes three in 2024.

Break points in the first three games 
Badosa saved one and held in the opening game for 1-0,

She broke Sabalenka in game two and led 2-0.
Sabalenka broke back for 1-2.

Sabalenka broke in game five to lead 3-2.
She consolidated for 4-2.
The top seed was using her drop shot to great effect.

No more break points and Sabalenka served out the set.
6-4, sealed with an ace.

Sabalenka broke in the third and fifth games of set two.
She led 4-1.

A two deuce service game, but a hold to consolidate for 5-1.
Badosa served to stay in the match and held for 2-5.

Aryna Sabalenka served out the match 6-4 6-2 and earned a final spot.
She has the chance of winning a third successive Australian Open
