Jabeur opened with a love game, while Konta struggled to hold her serve, needing to save a break point. The trend continued, and Jabeur led 3-2, on serve, having surrendered just one point in her three trips to the line thus far.
Konta levelled at 3-3, following her easiest service game, a drop shot the highlight.
Jabeur overcame a couple of unforced errors to again take the lead, a backhand winner and strong serving assisting her.
Konta finally managed to trouble the Jabeur delivery in the ninth game. A fine return set up a forehand volley winner for Konta, and then a drop shot was too much for Jabeur. A double fault gave Konta break point, but a good serve saved Jabeur. Serve was held with an ace, and 5-4 the score.
Serving to stay in the set, Konta won the opening point, but a double fault was problematic. 30-30, and a forehand return winner off a second serve presented Jabeur with set point.
A stunning forehand winner down the line sealed the set 6-4 for Jabeur.
Konta broke immediately in set two, her forehand firing. Not to be outdone, Jabeur ripped a forehand return, another forehand winner, and timed a drop shot perfectly, on the way to a break back.
A love game on serve put Jabeur ahead 2-1. Konta faced more danger after a return backhand winner from Jabeur brought two break points. A forehand winner confirmed the break and a 3-1 advantage.
At 2-5, Konta put a backhand long, was forced into more backhand distress, and faced three match points once Jabeur sent an off backhand past her for another winner.
An excellent return forced an errant backhand from Konta, and Ons Jabeur won in straight sets 6-4 6-2.
