Djokovic led Sinner 3-1 in head to head matches before the final,
Sinner winning the last clash - the round robin match earlier in this tournament.
In this final Djokovic broke Sinner in game four to take a 3-1 lead.
No more break opportunities and Djokovic served out the set 6-3.
Only two unforced errors from the world number one so far.
Djokovic broke Sinner to love in the opening game of set two.
Sinner saved three break points in game three before holding.
He trailed 1-2.
Djokovic saved two break points in game six and held for 4-2.
Sinner saved two break points in the next game which went to deuce eight times.
He held and trailed 3-4.
Serving at 3-5 to stay in the match, Sinner was broken, and Djokovic won 6-3 6-3.
It was the seventh ATP Finals trophy win for Novak Djokovic and the seventh tournament victory for 2023, including three majors.
The eighth year he has finished as the world number one.
