Sinner’s early aggression put Alcaraz on the back foot, 
but Alcaraz’s composed defense and court coverage prevented the first set from slipping away.

Sinner broke serve in the opening game of set two.
He saved a break point in the next game, then held for 2-0.

Alcaraz saved a break point in game seven.
He held for 3-4.

Alcaraz served at 3-5 to stay in the set.
He held, but trailed 4-5.

Sinner served out the set 6-4.

Alcaraz saved two break points in the opening game of set three.
He held serve.

No more break chances until Alcaraz was serving at 4-4.

Sinner broke and led 5-4.
He served out the set 6-4.

Alcaraz down 2 sets to 1 was a strong position for Sinner but far from decisive against the fighter from Spain.
Momentum can swing quickly, and given Alcaraz’s track record in extended matches, he was still in it - just.

Sinner broke serve in game three of set four.
He led 2-1.

Sinner saved two break points in game eight and held.
He led 5-3.

Alczraz served to stay in the match.
He held for 4-5.

Final:

Amanda Anisimova (13) (USA) v Iga Świątek (8) (Poland)

First time meeting between the players.
First Grand Slam singles final for Anisimova.
First Wimbledon final for both players.

Iga Świątek broke in the opening game of set one.
She consolidated to lead 2-0.

After leading 40-15, Anisimova was eventually broken in game three.
Świątek ahead 3-0.

Then another service hokd for Świątek, and 4-0.

The rout continued as Anisimova was broken to love in game five.

Świątek served out the set 6-0 in just 25 minutes.

Swiatek on repeat, as she broke in the opening game of set two.
Eight games in a row when she consolidated for 2-0.

Broken again, the sad story continued for Amanda.
3-0 for Iga.

Iga held for 4-0.

Amanda broken for a fifth time in the match.
Trailing 0-5.

Iga Swiatek won a disappointing one sided final 6-0 6-0.
However it should not diminish the brilliant display from Iga.

Her sixth Grand Slam singles title, and first on grass. 
She has now won majors on all three surfaces.
