US Open 2020 - Women’s Singles quarter finals (1)

Day Nine of the US Open and the first two quarter finals were played.

Quarter final results:

Jennifer Brady (28) (USA) defeated Yulia Putintseva (23) (Kazakhstan) 6-3 6-2

A clean match for Brady, with no double faults and unforced error numbers (24) covered with her 22 winners.
A slight concern with only 58% of points won on first serve. Thankfully 72% of points won on the second delivery disguised this weakness.

Naomi Osaka (4) (Japan) defeated Shelby Rogers (USA) 6-3 6-4

Never looked in doubt - stumbled a little when failing to consolidate a service break halfway through the first set, but immediately achieved another break and powered to an impressive victory.
Only 46% of first serves in, but when they landed, Osaka won 81% of the points. She hit 20 winners and only committed 8 unforced errors.
