Vesely, Monfils win Pune, Montpellier

Finals played in Pune and Montpellier.

2020 Tata Open Maharashtra - an ATP 250 tournament, on Hard Plexipave, in Pune, India, 3-9 February 2020.

Defending champion:

Kevin Anderson (1) who defeated Ivo Karlovic 7-6(4) 6-7(2) 7-6(5)


Final result 

- Jiri Vesely defeated Egor Gerasimov (8) 7-6(2) 5-7 6-3.


This was the second ATP Tour title for Vesely in three finals contested. The previous two finals were in 2015, the other trophy collected in Auckland in January of that year.

The victory takes Vesely up 35 spots to #72 in the rankings, while Gerasimov moves up 19 places to a career high of #71.

Wildcard Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who defeated Pierre-Hugues Herbert (7) 6-4 6-2


Final result

- Wildcard Gaël Monfils (1) defeated Vasek Pospisil 7-5 6-3


This was the ninth ATP Tour title for Monfils from thirty finals contested, and the first since Rotterdam 12 months ago.

The final was only the second in the career of Pospisil, the other coming in April 2014 in Washington D.C., where he lost to fellow Canadian Milos Raonic.

Pospisil moves up 28 spots to #104 in the rankings, while Monfils remains at #9.
