Zhuhai - WTA 3rd day of round robin matches

Day 3 of round robin matches were played in Zhuhai.

WTA Elite Trophy - a WTA tournament contested by the top players not qualified for the WTA Finals, on Hard, in Zhuhai, China, 22-27 October 2019.

Defending champion:

Ash Barty (9) who defeated Wang Qiang (11) 6-3 6-4

Barty is unable to defend her title as she will be playing next week in Shenzhen, attempting to retain her #1 ranking at year end.

 Orchid Group

- Madison Keys (3) defeated Petra Martić (5) 6-3 6-4

If Zheng Saisai wins the final match in the group, she will advance to the semi finals.

If Petra Martic wins, then a tie break will be required as all three players will have one win.

Azalea Group 

- Kiki Bertens (1) defeated Dayana Yastremska (10) 6-4 6-3

Kiki Bertens has won both her matches, therefore wins her group and advances to the semi finals.

Camellia Group

- Karolina Muchova (11) defeated Alison Riske (7) 2-6 6-2 7-5

With consecutive losses, Alison Riske is eliminated from the tournament.

The winner of the final match in the group - Kenin v Muchova - will be the semi finalist from this group.
