Titles were handed out in Tokyo and Beijing.

Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships  - an ATP 500 category tournament, on Hard, in Tokyo, Japan, 30 September - 6 October 2019.

Novak Djokovic (1) defeated qualifier John Millman 6-3 6-2

Djokovic remains the world #1, but importantly is still behind in the ATP Race, he has gained ground on Rafa Nadal, trailing by 1460 points. With Nadal not playing in Shanghai this coming week, the gap will likely close sharply, given the Serbian form.

Final result

Naomi Osaka (4) defeated Ash Barty (1) 3-6 6-3 6-2

Osaka won her third title for the year and second in a few weeks. She moves up a spot to #3, while Barty extends her lead at the top, even in defeat.
