Two Tsonga forehands had him up a break point, but Djokovic survived for 1-1. Tsonga’s winning forehand finished the next game and he was ahead 2-1. Djokovic levelled, a couple of forehands assisting.
Tsonga led 3-2 after a game featuring another ace.
Tsonga hit a backhand winner to create two break points, but Djokovic saved them and won the game with a forehand winner of his own. 3-3.
From 30-15, Tsonga donated three straight forehand unforced errors and Djokovic broke serve. 4-3 to the number one seed.
A love game with two winners and Djokovic extended his margin to 5-3.
Two aces contributed to a Tsonga hold and he forced Djokovic to serve for the set.
Djokovic played a shocker, losing his serve to love, and Tsonga levelled at 5-5.
Tsonga saved three break points, the second with an ace, the third with a forehand winner. An ace gave him game point, but three unforced errors gifted the break to Djokovic who had a second chance to serve for the set.
With three set points up his sleeve, Djokovic delivered a forehand winner to take the set 7-5.
Tsonga began set three in style, winning the opening game to love, incorporating an ace and winning forehand. 1-0. Djokovic followed suit, a pair of aces donated. Tsonga’s forehand winner count shot up some more as he held serve again for 2-1.
A Djokovic backhand finished his service game at 2-2.
Tsonga raced to 40-0, only to fall to deuce, thanks to errors forced by Djokovic and a winner off the forehand. Two more game points came and went, before the French serve was lost. Djokovic ahead two sets and a break 3-2

It was a solid contest given by Jo-Wildried Tsonga in defeat.
