Wildcard Bianca Andreescu (Canada) v Liudmila Samsonova (2) (Russia)

Andreescu won the only previous match between the players.

This was a first round encounter in San Diego, 2022.

Samsonova saved a break point in the opening game of set one and held serve.

There were breaks of serve in games three, four and five.

Andreescu led 3-2.

No more break points faced and Andreescu served out the set 6-4.

Samsonova broke in game two of set two to lead 2-0.

Breaks of serve in games five and six left Samsonova ahead 4-2.

No more break chances and Samsonova served out the set 6-3.

Samsonova broke serve in game three of the decider.

She led 2-1.

Andreescu broke back in game eight to level at 4-4.

Andreescu saved three break points before holding for 5-4.

Samsonova broke in the eleventh game to lead 6–5

Liudmila Samsonova served out the match 4-6 6-3 7-5 to win the title.

Fifth title, and first since Japan in September 2022.
