Zheng Qinwen won a first round in Zhuhai, 2023.

Zheng Qinwen broke serve in the second game of set one to lead 2-0.
She saved two break points in the following game before holding,

Zheng Qinwen saved another break point in game seven, and held for 5-2.

Vekic served to stay in the set, but was broken and Zheng took the set 6-2.

The players exchanged service breaks in games two and three of set two.
Zheng Qinwen led 2-1, games on serve.

Vekic was broken in the eighth game and trailed 3-5.

Zheng Qinwen served out the match 6-2 6-3 and won the gold medal for China.
Donna Vekic won silver for Croatia.
