WTA - Lexington semi finals

Semi final day in Lexington.

2020 Top Seed Open - a WTA international tournament, on Hard Deco Turf II, in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, 10-16 August 2020.

Semi final results:

- Jil Teichmann defeated wildcard Shelby Rogers 6-3 6-2

- Jennifer Brady defeated Coco Gauff 6-2 6-4, and will play Jil Teichmann in the final.

This will be the third encounter between Teichmann and Brady, with a win to each coming last year - Brady in Cincinnati and Teichmann in Limoges.

Brady will be contesting her first WTA final, a major milestone, while Teichmann is in her third.

Teichmann won both the Palermo and Prague clay court tournaments last year, but chose not to defend either of them in 2020, instead opting to improve her hardcourt record.

Prior to Lexington, the Swiss player had never reached the semis in a hardcourt event, and so has also achieved a milestone here.

Both Teichmann and Brady have reached the final without dropping a set.
