This is the eighth final for Osaka - of the seven she has contested, 2 have been majors which she has won, 2 have been Premier Mandatory (the next highest category) which she has won, and 3 have been Premier, 1 of which she has won.

Three titles came in 2019, the last in Beijing in October.

This is Azarenka’s 38th final, the first since Monterrey in April last year where she lost to GarbiƱe Muguruza. Her last win was in Miami in April 2016.

Azarenka will be aiming to claim her 21st title, and second Western & Southern Open, adding to her 2013 triumph where she defeated Serena Williams in the final via a third set tie break.
