WTA Zhengzhou

While the ATP Tour is resting after the US Open, and concentration is on Davis Cup, three WTA tournaments are being played in Asia.

Zhengzhou Open - a WTA Premier category tournament, on Hard, in Zhengzhou, China, 9-15 September 2019.
The tournament was previously contested as a WTA 125K level event. It has now been upgraded and classified as a Premier tournament on the WTA Tour.


The following players withdrew after entering but before the main draw was published:


- Simona Halep replaced by Tereza Martincova

- Anett Kontaveit replaced by Jelena Ostapenko 

- Maria Sakkari replaced by Jasmine Paolini

- Lesia Tsurenko replaced by Fiona Ferro

- Wang Qiang replaced by Chloe Paquet 


Karolina Pliskova, world number 2, is  top seed.

The other seeds are all in the top 31
