Titles to Osaka, Medvedev, Tsonga, Muchova

Finals were decided in Osaka, St. Petersburg and Metz.

Toray Pan Pacific Open - a WTA Premier category tournament, on Hard Deco Turf, in Osaka, Japan, 14-22 September 2019.

Defending champion:

Karolina Pliskova (4) who defeated Naomi Osaka (3) 6-4 6-4


Final result 

- Naomi Osaka (1) defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-2 6-3

This was the third appearance in the final here for Osaka, and the first success for her. Two finals for 2019, and two titles, following the Australian Open in January.

Pavlyuchenkova, by making the final, regains the number one Russian ranking.


St. Petersburg Open - an ATP 250 category tournament, on Hard Rebound Ace, in St. Petersburg, Russia, 16-22 September 2019.

Defending champion:

Dominic Thiem (1) who defeated Martin Klizan 6-3 6-1


Final result 

- Daniil Medvedev (1) defeated Borna Coric (4) 6-3 6-1

Medvedev, in his fifth straight final, collected a second title, and now has three titles from eight finals in 2019. He consolidates a world ranking of #4.


Moselle Open - an ATP 250 category tournament, on Hard Slamcourt Indoor, in Metz, France, 16-22 September 2019.

Defending champion:

Gilles Simon who defeated qualifier Matthias Bachinger 7-6(2) 6-1


Final result 

- Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Aljaz Bedene 6-7(4) 7-6(4) 6-3

Tsonga’s second final for 2019 brought him a second title (18th career). Both have come in France, the other in Montpellier in February.

The ranking for Tsonga took a boost, up 22 places back into the top fifty at #39.

Bedene moves up 12 spots to #64.


KEB Hana Bank Korea Open - a WTA International category tournament, on Hard Deco Turf, in Seoul, Korea, 16-22 September 2019.

Defending champion:

Kiki Bertens (2) who defeated Ajla Tomljanovic 7-6(2) 4-6 6-2


Final result 

- Karolina Muchova (3) defeated Magda Linette (4) 6-1 6-1

In her second WTA Tour final for 2019, and second of her career, Muchova lifted her first trophy, and in the process jumped eight spots to a new career high of #37.

Linette rose six places to also achieve a career high of #42.
