Hiroshima, Zhengzhou, Nanchang semis

While the ATP Tour is resting after the US Open, and concentration is on Davis Cup, three WTA tournaments are being played in Asia.

Japan Women’s Open - a WTA International category tournament, on Hard Deco Turf, in Hiroshima, Japan, 8-15 September 2019.

Defending champion:

Hsieh Su-Wei (2) who defeated qualifier Amanda Anisimova 6-2 6-2


Semi final results 

- Nao Hibino defeated Mihaela Buzarnescu 4-6 6-0 6-3
- Misaki Doi defeated Veronika Kudermetova (2) 6-4 6-3, and will play Nao Hibino in the final

Zhengzhou Open - a WTA Premier category tournament, on Hard, in Zhengzhou, China, 9-15 September 2019.
The tournament was previously contested as a WTA 125K level event. It has now been upgraded and classified as a Premier tournament on the WTA Tour.

Semi final results 
- Karolina Pliskova (1) defeated Ajla Tomljanovic 6-3 6-2
- Petra Martic (7) defeated Kristina Mladenovic 6-0 6-3, and will play Karolina Pliskova in the final 

Jiangxi Open - a WTA International category tournament, on Hard Deco Turf, in Nanchang, China, 7-15 September 2019.

Defending champion:

Wang Qiang (2) who defeated Zheng Saisai (6) 7-5 4-0 (retired)


Semi final results

- Elena Rybakina (4) defeated Peng Shuai 6-1 3-6 6-2

- Rebecca Peterson (5) defeated Nina Stojanovic 6-3 6-1, and will play Elena Rybakina in the final
