WTA Luxembourg semi finals
- Julia Goerges (1) defeated qualifier Eugenie Bouchard 6-7(3) 7-5 6-1, in a high standard match where Bouchard appeared set for victory a number of times. Goerges snatched the second set by breaking the Canadian serve, part of a fascinating nine game streak ended at 5-0 in the decider. A Bouchard service hold only delayed the inevitable and Goerges delivered a love game for victory.
- Qualifier Belinda Bencic outlasted Dayana Yastremska in another terrific semi final 6-2 3-6 7-6(5). Yastremska, despite blasting 45 winners, and leading the decider with a break on two occasions, was let down at crucial stages by her forehand and Bencic was consistent when it counted. The final between the Swiss former top ten player and the big serving Julia Goerges should be exciting.
