Clara Tauson (Denmark) v Mirra Andreeva (12) (Russia)
First meeting between the players in a WTA Tour match.
First WTA 1000 final for both players.
Tauson saved a break point in game one of set one and held.
The players exchanged breaks of serve in games two and three.
Tauson led 2-1.
Andreeva saved two break points in game four before levelling at 2-2.
Andreeva broke in game nine to lead 5-4.
Serving for the set, she was broken and the score was 5-5.
Eventually a tie break was required.
Andreeva won the tie break and set 7-6(1).
Andreeva broke serve in game four of set two.
She saved three break points in the following game then held for 4-2.
Twueon was broken again in game six and trailed 1-5.
Mirra Andreeva served out the match 7-6(1) 6-1.
Second title, following her debut win - 2024 Iaşi Open in Romania.
Mirra becomes youngest player to win a WTA 1000 tournament.
Now a new career high ranking in the top ten at #9.
