2020 champion (not defending):

Miomir Kecmanovic who defeated Qualifier Yannick Hanfmann 6-4 6-4

The following players withdrew after the main draw was published:

- Seventh seed Aljaz Bedene, replaced by lucky loser Carlos Taberner due to fatigue.

Carlos Alcaraz was instated as tenth seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Bedene.

- Eighth seed Richard Gasquet, replaced by lucky loser Mario Vilella Martinez due to personal reasons 

Jaume Munar was instated as ninth seed and moved in the draw to the place previously occupied by Gasquet.
