Day Three of Wimbledon 2019 went as expected for the most part.
The highlight for many was yet another fine performance by American fifteen year old qualifier Cori ‘Coco’ Gauff. After her shock defeat of Venus Williams, 24 years her senior, and winner of two Wimbledon titles before Cori was born, the prodigiously talented teenager.
Gauff won her way into the third round after a straight sets victory over Magdaléna Rybáriková.
Interesting day for American women.
Madison Keys (17) was upset by Polona Hercog. Sofia Kenin (27) was also unhappy when she lost to Dayana Yastremska. Madison Brengle, who had dismissed 16th seed Marketa Vondrousova in round one, was in turn dumped by Karolina Muchova in the second round.
