It was the round of sixteen in Paris and these results in the Rolex Paris Masters determined the quarter final match ups.
- Jack Sock (16) defeated lucky loser Malek Jaziri 6-0 6-4
- Dominic Thiem (6) defeated Borna Coric (11) 6-7(3) 6-2 7-5 in a top class battle, two and a half hours worth.
Coric won only 43% of points on his first serve in the deciding set, yet was matching it with Thiem until the key eleventh game when he surrendered serve. Thiem then served it out, after trailing 0-30. He will play Jack Sock in the quarter finals
- Sascha Zverev (4) defeated Diego Schwartzman (15) 6-4 6-2
- Karen Khachanov defeated John Isner (8) 6-4 6-7(9) 7-6(8)
Khachanov faced no break points in the match, and in sets two and three he won 47 of 49 points on first serve. In a big serving match, Isner contributed 19 aces, a small amount by his lofty standards, and only eight more than Khachanov, whose serve will clearly be a concern for Sascha Zverev in their quarter final.
Khachanov, with his win over Isner, has risen in the rankings from 18 to 15, a new career high, and he will continue that rise if he keeps winning in Paris.
- Roger Federer (3) defeated Fabio Fognini (13) 6-4 6-3
- Kei Nishikori (10) defeated Kevin Anderson (7) 6-4 6-4, and will play Roger Federer in the quarter finals
- Marin Cilic (5) defeated Grigor Dimitrov (9) 7-6(5) 6-4
- Novak Djokovic (2) defeated Damir Dzumhur 6-1 2-1 (retired), and he will play Marin Cilic in the quarter finals.
