Start of North America hard court season

Some of the bigger names will be in action this week, following a longer rest after Wimbledon.

All but one of the tournaments represent the initial lead in to the North American hard court season.

The Citi Open in Washington DC, USA, hard court, (ATP 500 category) and (WTA International category)

The Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic in San Jose, USA, hard court decoturf, (WTA International category)

The Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Mifel presentado por Cinemex in Cabo San lucas, Mexico, hard court, soloflex, (ATP 250 category)

The Generali Open in Kitzbuehel, Austria, red clay, (ATP 250 category)

Sascha Zverev is top seed, world ranked three.  He is joined by John Isner as the other top ten player and five of the remaining seeds are in the top twenty.

Of the 48 in the draw, 16 have first round byes.
