Rome - ATP catch up day

The mens draw was well behind schedule due to a whole day being rained out, and so the rest of round two, and all of round of sixteen matches were played on Thursday. Many players had two matches to complete.

Kyrgios was given a code violation for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' after being broken early in the third set. He’d already suffered a code violation earlier in the match, so this one precipitated the enforcement of a game penalty.

Kyrgios blew up, slamming his racket into the ground, kicking a water bottle before tossing a chair towards the centre of the court. Kyrgios was appropriately disqualified, fined, and lost any points he had gained in the tournament.
