Kvitova won four of the five previous matches between the players, including the most recent - third round Miami earlier this year.

Kvitova saved a break point in the fifth game of the opening set, then broke Vekic in the following game for a 4-2 lead.

Vekic served at 2-5 to stay in the set, but was broken again, and Kvitova took the set 6-2.

Kvitova was broken in game three of set two and Vekic led 2-1.

No more break points until Vekic served at 5-4 for the set.
Kvitova broke back just in time and levelled at 5-5.

Vekic served at 5-6 to stay in the match.
She held and forced a tie break.

Serving at 6-7 in the tie break Vekic lost the point and Kvitova won the set and match 6-2 7-6(6).

This was title number 31 for Petra, and second for the year, following the Miami Open.

Ostapenko wins Birmingham title

Ostapenko won four of the six previous matches between the players, including the most recent - third round Rome in May this year.

Krejcikova saved a break point in game six of the opening set before holding for 3-3.
Ostapenko saved two break points in the next game and still games remained on serve.

After that, neither player taken to deuce and a tie break was necessary.

In an even tie break, Ostapenko had the chance to win it when serving at 6-5, but Krejcikova won the point.
When serving at 8-9, Krejcikova lost the point, and Ostapenko won the tie break and the set 7-6(8).

Ostapenko broke serve in the opening game of set two.
The Latvian player broke again in the fifth game for a 4-1 advantage.

Ostapenko served for the match at 5-2 but Krejcikova broke serve.

Ostapenko served for the match again at 5-4 and this time was successful, winning 7-6(8) 6-4.

This was title number six for Ostapenko, her first since Dubai in February 2022

Alcaraz wins Queen’s Club title

Alcaraz won the only previous match between the players - three set semi final in Barcelona earlier this year.

Alcaraz saved the first break point of the match in game eight of the opening set.
He saved a second break point and eventually held for 4-4.

de Minaur was broken next game and Alcaraz had the chance to serve for the set.
He took the chance, and led by a set 6-4.

Alcaraz broke the de Minaur serve in game five of set two for a 3-2 lead.

No more break chances and the top seed served at 5-4 for the match.
From 0-30, Alcaraz won four straight points to take the set and match 6-4 6-4.

It was career title number eleven for Alcaraz, five this year, and he regains the number one ranking.

Bublik wins Halle title

Bublik saved a break point in the opening game of set one and held serve.
He broke Rublev in the following game and led 2-0.

No more break opportunities in the set, and Bublik served it out 6-3.

Bublik saved a break point in game four of set two before holding for 2-2.
Rublev broke in the sixth game to lead 4-2.

No more break chances and Rublev served it out 6-3 to level the match.

Rublev saved two break points in game two of the decider, but Bublik cashed in on a third to take a 2-0 lead.
In game four, Rublev saved a break point, and held serve to avoid going down 0-4.

Rublev served at 3-5 to stay in the match, but was broken again and Bublik won 6-3 3-6 6-3.

This was title number two for Bublik, following his win in Montpellier, February 2022.
